Darlington Raceway 5/17/20 - NASCAR Sup Series, Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions
After taking an extended break due to coronavirus the boys are about to get back on the track. Granted, the NASCAR race will not really be at the same level as what would be expected and definitely will not be touring the country as expected, but the races are about to get underway. To help reduce the travel headache for the teams with some states open and others still closed NASCAR has opted to revamp its schedule and is running 4 races at Darlington this month. In this preview, we are going to cover the NASCAR Cup Series race at Darlington for May 17th.
The field for the first race at Darlington is actually coming in almost completely full of the normal drivers. However, with the break since the last race the drivers have to get settled back into the race cars and the heat, but also get used to the handling of a real track instead of how the track feels in the iRacing series cars. Not to mention, the drivers are back and in the cars where the dangers are real and the accidents actually hurt, instead of just show up on screen of them rolling over.
Just like always, though, the field has some of the top runners at the odds on favorites. One of those is Kevin Harvick and Kyle Busch, both of whom are the favored drivers. However, Ryan Newman is on the entry for the race as well and would like to get back behind the wheel on the right foot with a win. The downside with Newman is this will be his first legitimate race since the horrific accident on the final lap of Daytona that had numerous fans wondering if he was still alive.

Darlington is a great track to start racing on and is close enough to most of the teams headquarters that they do not have to be concerned about not being able to reach the track.
