Cookout Southern 500 9/6/20 - NASCAR Picks & Predictions
The Cookout Southern 500 is coming into the race here with a chance to be a great race. The funny part is the drivers are somewhat familiar with the track at Darlington with a spring race already being ran this season. Now, the major issue is the track is going to have very different weather conditions than what it had in May as the weather is projected to be unseasonably cool.
Kevin Harvick is one driver that a lot of people may want to back. He is the favorite coming into the race this year, but now Harvick is a driver that has to figure out the weather conditions and hope that he is able to avoid some of the bad luck he has had lately.
Denny Hamlin is the other driver who has been able to win an earlier race at Darlington this year. However, Hamlin is a driver that has raced really well and definitely is one driver that could potentially come to the race here and get the win, but he is another driver that could have some issues as well with the way that he has raced on the year.

Clint Bowyer is a very long shot to win the race at a +6600, but he is the pick here. Bowyer managed to race really well in the second Darlington race, but also has looked consistent in how he has been driving lately. The one thing that could cost him the race would be any mistakes from his crew, but even those should be minimal based off of how he has driven in the past.
