70th Anniversary Grand Prix – 2020 F1 Betting Odds, Picks & Predictions

Following an action-packed British Grand Prix, Formula 1 returns to Silverstone for the second weekend running for the 70th Anniversary race. This is the fifth round of the new-look 2020 F1 calendar, and to say that Mercedes has dominated so far this year would be a massive understatement.
Valtteri Bottas (+350) won the opening race of the campaign in Austria, but it’s been the Lewis Hamilton (-300) show ever since. The Brit has won each of the previous three races, so it's difficult to imagine anyone stopping him from claiming a fourth straight win on his home track on Sunday.
Hamilton may have won his seventh British GP last time out, but it could have been very different. The 35-year-old – who is aiming to secure a record-equaling seventh F1 title – survived a puncture scare on the final lap, which saw him take the chequered flag while stuttering over the line.
Max Verstappen (+700) is probably Hamiltons’ biggest threat this weekend. The Red Bull prodigy clinched second place in the previous race to secure back-to-back runner-up finishes. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc (+4000) finished third last time out, recording his second podium finish of the season.
Alexander Albon (+5000) stands an outside chance of ending up on the podium after registering finishes of fourth, fifth, and eighth in the previous three races. However, four-time World Champion Sebastian Vettel (+6600) is enduring a torrid campaign in an underperforming Ferrari.

If you're looking for a risky bet for this race, I recommend going with Max Verstappen. The Red Bull youngster has shown glimpses of genuine class in recent races, so he could upset the odds on Sunday. However, if you want a safe option, Lewis Hamilton is your man. The Mercedes star is in untouchable form right now, so you'd be foolish bet bet against him.
