College Football Week 1, Thursday August 30, 2012 Betting Lines, Betting Totals, & Free Picks ATS

7:00 PM EST - ESPN: South Carolina -7 at Vanderbilt   Total 47

The old ball coach has another great defense but another season of questionable quarterback play will drive him crazy again. Vandy is coming off best year in my life-time and are trying to pull off a ranked upset to open the college football season. Vandy great running back Zac Stacy needs to be great to beat this stout South Carolina defense if he goes off we could see big upset. Both defenses are physical and should make it hard for offenses to gain footing early.  Early Betting Free Pick: SC at VAN Under 47      **We will have Premium Play for Sale on this Side for just $25.00 on this Game Click here**

7:00 PM EST - Central Florida -23 at Akron   Total 47

Very disappointing 2011 that had Central Florida win just 5 games. CFU is loaded with talent but with ton of offensive question marks including at the Quarterback spot its hard to lay this many points. Akron is hoping that new Coach Terry Bowden can make a huge change in culture to this losing program. If coaching matters then Zips should be winners as Terry Bowden added NCST past head coach Chuck Amato to coach defense and filled in with Terrell Buckley to coach defensive backs. Coaching matters early in College Football and the Zip keep this close in their home opener. Free Betting Pick - CENT FL at AKR +23

7:00 PM EST - Eastern Michigan at Ball State -3.5   Total 54

Nothing like starting the CFB season with a conference game, both Eastern Michigan and Ball State are hoping they can turn around a bad 2011 season. Hard to believe that Ball State or Eastern Michigan will be a force in 2012 but of the two Ball State offense has a bigger upside. Not risking my hard earned bankroll on two bad teams. Free Betting Prediction: EMICH at BST -3.5

7:30 PM EST- ESPNU: Texas A&M -7 at Louisiana Tech    Total 60

Maybe the most intriguing game of opening night of College Football. Texas A&M has new coach and new conference for 2012 but now out of shadow of Texas can they be relevant in SEC. A&M has ton of new faces on both side of the ball off very disappointing team in 2011. Louisiana Tech has built up a mini powerhouse and now are looking to take down a BCS team and make a serious splash in 2012. Not much respect for LA TECH for odds-makers as all the proven offensive talent will be on their side. First big upset of year all though not sure many will be surprised. Free Betting Pick CFB: A&M at LA TECH +7

7:30 PM EST - UMass at Connecticut -25    Total N/L

Not much to say positive on either one of these teams. Yes UCONN has better talent and athletically are superior to UMASS but if 2011 was any indication of how Huskies will play I would not lay these points. UMASS doesn't get chance to make a splash in College Football but call me crazy they might just pull big upset. Free Betting Prediction CFB: UMASS +25 at UCONN

7:30 PM EST - UCLA -15.5 at Rice   Total 56

New Coach of UCLA Jim Mora is trying to change the perceived "SOFT" tag that many have called the Bruins. Expect the UCLA offense to be physical run first NFL style offense that will reflect Mora's NFL background. Defense of UCLA has underachieved in recent years but new staff should get the most out of them in 2012. Rice is a real wild-card in Conference USA but last few years they have been a doormat and not sure anything will change against superior talented Bruins team. Free Betting Pick: UCLA -15.5 vs Rice

7:30 PM EST - Texas San Antonio at South Alabama -6.5    Total N/L

Make this quick, South Alabama has had good success in FCS but now moving up to FBS will present much stiffer competition. Lucky for South Alabama they get the lowly Texas San Antonio to start 2012 season. Betting against bad teams is always a good idea when you don't have to lay a full touchdown. Free Betting Prediction: TEX SA at SALA -6.5

10:15 PM EST - ESPN: Washington State at BYU -13.5   Total 61

Maybe more eyes will be on this game than any other for opening night of College Football 2012. New Coach Mike Leetch brings the high powered offense north to Washington State hoping to change the culture of losing that has been present for nearly a decade. Leetch teams have always found way to score points but with little game changing speed in the WR's slots its hard to imagine that 2012 will be ton different for WSU. BYU is one of sleepers that can shake the BCS bowls potentially in 2012. Late in 2011 BYU started to play to its potential and now expectations are 10+ win season. Free Betting Pick: WSU at BYU -13.5    **We will have a Premium Play on TOTAL in this Game for just $25 click here to Buy**

11:00 PM EST - Minnesota -10 at UNLV   Total 53

How far has UNLV fallen to be a 10 point home Underdog to the lowly Minnesota Gophers. Hard to find upside for Running Rebels coming off a 2-10 2011 season. Minnesota has nice returning starter at quarterback, Marqueis Gray. Gray should put up some points against the small out-manned UNLV defense. Minnesota defense is only question but with not much returning that worries us on Running Rebels we will lay the points with the Gophers. Free Betting Prediction: MINN -10 at UNLV
