Tennessee Volunteers (9-7) vs. Ole Miss Rebels (15-2)
College Basketball 8:00 PM EST January 24, 2013 TV: ESPN2
Latest Odds: Ole Miss -9  Over/Under 139.5

SEC has been seen as a top heavy conference and so far the Volunteers and Rebels are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Tennesee has started SEC play going 1-3 while the Ole Miss Rebels have started 4-0. Thursday's SEC clash will feature Tennessee traveling to Oxford, MS trying to get revenge for beating Ole Miss gave them in Knoxville just two weeks ago. First head to head meeting was dominated by Ole Miss winning 92-74 led by Rebels star Marshall Henderson's career high 32 points.

Volunteers have been so up and down this season but most of the struggles point to an anemic offense. Tennessee is such a poor shooting team from the perimeter it makes it tough for 2nd year Head Coach Cuonzo Martin to draw up much to get Vols easy scores. On the season Tennessee is averaging 65.6 points while allowing 62.3 points per game. If Martin and the Vols are to pull upset on Thusday Tennesee will have to slow down the game and find a way to make some outside shots.

Coach Andy Kennedy and Ole Miss have been snubbed by NCAA Tournament too many times in recent years to allow the Rebels to let down on Thursday night. Rebels are very exciting team to watch as Ole Miss feature SEC's best offesne and third ranked offense in College Basketball. Ole Miss is averaging 82.4 points per game while only allowing 64.6 points per game. Rebels feature 4 players that average double digits or better led by Junior Marshall Henderson's 18.9 points per game. Key for Rebels tonight will be to keep pushing the tempo as Tennessee is not a team that can win a high scoring affair.

Recent Betting Trends:

Underdog is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings.

Volunteers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games.

Rebels are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games.

Over is 4-0 in Volunteers last 4 overall.

Over is 7-3-1 in Rebels last 11 overall.

Free Betting Pick: Ole Miss -9

Coach Andy Kennedy has not got the credit he deserves for the resurgance of this program since he took over. This looks to be the season when the Rebels finally get the credit and make the first NCAA appearance since 2002. Tonight the Rebels repeat early beat-down of Tennessee as Vols just can't handle the high octane offense of Ole Miss. Final Score Prediction, Rebels win 79-63, nice ATS winner by Ole Miss as they move to 5-0 in SEC play.
