New Year's Day wouldn't be the same without College Bowl games and starting early we have the 68th annual Gator Bowl. For the 3rd straight year Taxslayer.com will be the name sponsor of the Gator Bowl. Big payout for these teams conferences as Big12 and SEC will receive $7 million for playing in the Gator Bowl.
The upcoming 2014 Gator Bowl on January 1 may seem like TV rerun because it is. The Georgia Bulldogs and Nebraska are in a redo of last year's Capital One Bowl Game, just now its at a different venue and a different bowl name. That said, both teams are evenly matched with a 8-4 record, so neither side seems to be an automatic blowout in this match from the start.
Nebraska is going to placing a lot of bets on their rushing game to win this match. Due to injuries and a lack of depth, the team has had to work with second and third string quarterbacks. Losing 5th year senior QB Taylor Martinez cost Nebraska at least 2 wins down the stretch and not sure either his back-ups are worthy of playing at a BIG 10 school. Defense of Cornhuskers didn't do much better allowing 25 plus points, could be ugly game for Nebraska fans.
Georgia is on its second string quarterback as well, record setting senior QB Aaron Murray is out with knee injury. Georgia will turn to Junior Hutson Mason who has only start, Hutson led Bulldogs to OT win against Rival Georgia Tech to end the year. Biggest concern for the Bulldogs is on their defensive unit, Georgia defense allowed 29 plus points per game which ranked near the bottom of the SEC.

Free Betting Pick: Georgia Bulldogs -9
Top level SEC offense even with back-up QB is much better than a QB less Nebraska team. Defense of both Bulldogs and Cornhuskers has been ugly this year but if one is going to have a turn around it would be Georgia. Hate laying near double digits in any bowl game but just don't like the make-up if this Nebraska team. Coach Pelini should be on his way out after this embarrasing loss in the Gator bowl. Final Score Prediction, Georgia Bulldogs win and cover ATS 42-20.
