Clemson Tigers (10-2) vs. Ohio St. Buckeyes (12-1)

CFB: 8:30 PM EST  January 3, 2014 TV: ESPN
Latest Odds: Ohio St -2.5  Over/Under 69.5

The 80th Anuual Orange Bowl could be an offensive explosion for the ages as two high powered offenses square off. The ACC's Clemson Tigers and Big Ten's Ohio State Buckeyes travel to Sun Life Stadium in Miami, FL to fight for Orange Bowl trophy.

The Clemson Tigers had hopes of national championship this year but after 6-0 start were put in their place by their ACC rival Florida State Seminoles. Getting hammered 51-14 at Florida State left Clemson with little doubt that aren't near as good as they thought. Clemson offense has shown they can put up points, on the year Tigers average 40.2 points per game thanks to their great passing game. Senior QB Tahj Boyd led Clemson with 3,473 and 29 Touchdowns but in two losses Boyd and Clemson were held in check scoring only 31 points total. Defense of Clemson did little to make us believe that the Tigers defense can slow down the Buckeyes good offense. Clemson defense is allowing 21.1 points per game but in two losses they have up 51 and 31 points.

Buckeyes were supposed to be in the BCS National Championship game this January. But, after going 12-0 with easy regular season schedule they fell short in Big Ten Championship game losing 34-24 to Michigan State. Offense is the key for Ohio State, on the year Buckeyes are 4th in points scored averaging 46.3 ppg. Buckeyes rushing attack had two headed monster, QB Braxton Miller and RB Carlos Hyde rushed for over 2400 yards and 24 Touchdowns. Problem for Ohio State has been their poor defense, on the year Bucks gave up 21.3 ppg. Pass defense for OSU better find a way to improve in bowl practices or Boyd and Clemson will put up 40 plus points in Orange Bowl.

Recent Betting Trends:

Under is 4-0 in Buckeyes last 4 games in January.

Buckeyes are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall.

Over is 4-0 in Tigers last 4 games following a ATS loss.

Tigers are 1-5 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.

Free Betting Pick: Ohio State Buckeyes -2.5

Defense will not be on display in Orange Bowl, we have both teams scoring 30 plus as offense will be the name of the game. Clemson has won only one quality game all year and in two toughest games they were hammered. Look for OSU to take out their frustration of Big 10 Championship loss on over rated Clemson team. Final Score Prediction, Ohio State Buckeyes win and cover ATS 45-31.
