Career earnings have reached over $2.6 Million after winning Preakness Stakes. I'll Have Another is still a lightly raced colt with just 6 races in his career, 4 straight wins all in graded stakes company speaks to the true class of this colt.
Some have knocked I'll Have Another's breeding but having Distorted Humor and Arch as Grandparents is better than most. Being a son of Flower Alley you would have to expect that distance won't be a factor in the Belmont Stakes. New hot breeding is sure to come from I'll Have Another's huge success not matter what happens in the 2012 Belmont Stakes.
Great connections have come together to get I'll Have Another to this point, but Triner Doug O'Neill should really get most of the credit. O'Neill made unusual move by resting I'll Have Another after first successful win of three year old campaign. Thought at the time was if this colt was going on to triple crown races he must be fresh heading into them. Of course the move worked out perfect as this colt won his next race in the Santa Anita Derby, then on to win both the 2012 Kentucky Derby and 2012 Preakness Stakes. O'Neill has had the magic touch with this colt, hard to imagine that I'll Have Another won't be 100% ready for the Belmont Stakes.
Before Owner Paul Reddam told Doug O'Neil to give jockey Mario Gutierrez a chance on I'll Have Another he was just a young, hungry, unknown jockey. Gutierrez has spent last few years honing his craft at Hasting Racecourse in Canada. Earlier this year he moved his tack to California where he was struggling to get quality mounts, but he did catch the eye of Reddam. That chance encounter changed Guitierrez's life and now might just lead I'll Have Another to Triple Crown on June 9th.

I'll Have Another has not been the favorite in any of his last three big wins but you can rest assured he will be odds on favorite come post time. Biggest problem for I'll Have Another in this years Belmont Stakes field is the lack of speed up front. Last three races were all set up for his great closing style by fast fractions. This field lacks front end speed which might hurt I'll Have Another chances come the stretch run. Guiteirrez will need to keep I'll Have Another closer than any of last three races and that might take away his great closing kick. For third straight triple crown race we are looking elsewhere. Trying to find much better price than taking even money on what we believe is beatable favorite.
